See U.S. Labor Law HERE.
Since most people do have their first job at 16, the amount of pay is usually not high. Most work for minimum wage, and there are some who are paid even lower than minimum wage:
UNITED STATES: From $5.15/hr (Georgia and Wyoming) to $9.50 (Washington D.C.)
CANADA (For Experienced Adult Workers): From $10.20 (Saskatchewan and Alberta) to $11.00 (Nunavut and Ontario).
AUSTRALIA: $9.26/hr (without the common penalty rate) for a 16 year old crew member in a fast food restaurant.
*Australia's minimum wage is a little bit tricky to find as they have varying rates, depending on age and occupation. Anyone under 21 is considered a junior employee.
UNITED KINGDOM: £6.50 (21 and over), £5.13 (18-20), £3.79 (Under 18), £2.73 (Apprentice*)
*This rate is for apprentices aged 16 to 18 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. All other apprentices are entitled to the National Minimum Wage for their age.
NEW ZEALAND: $11.40/hr for starting-out workers.

Unless you're a die hard fan of minimum wage, I don't know of any 16 year-olds that want to work for just that amount.
Fortunately there is hope for 16 year-olds who want more money--Brand Ambassador jobs. It's not difficult, it's super fun and easy. And best of all you get access to concerts and festivals and get a bunch of free stuff!
In fact, I just got offered a job as a Brand Ambassador doing a three-month tour for at least $1150/week. That's not even managing the tour! (How much more do you think managers get paid?!) I get to travel to different cities and I don't have to worry about travel as it's paid for.
I'm still deciding if I'll take it or not as I'm going on vacation within those months. But it's good to be wanted anyway.
So how does a 16 year-old get to be a Brand Ambassador and get paid well to have fun? Read THE BOOK "High Paying Jobs for Students and Teens: Travel, Meet New People, Get Tons of Freebies!" as it guides you step-by-step how you can earn get these fun high paying jobs.
Also, I post some jobs on my blog several times a week, so keep watch and apply right away as these jobs go fast! Without the book, these job postings have no value because you apply to it without knowing what they're looking for in an applicant, you're most likely not going to be hired. That's why I emphasize on reading THE BOOK. So get your copy HERE today.
